In 2003 Björn Sigurðsson founded Skrauta ehf. a construction company
that has in in it´s early years constructed three major bridge intersections
in Reykjavík, bridge at Urriðaholt in 2006 and two bridges on Arnarneshæð
in 2008 along with four underpasses. More here
In 2007 recasting flood controls at Kárahnjúkar for Landsvirkjun.
In 2009 specialized wells for Orkuveita Reykjavíkur.
In 2010 until lately various maintenance work on buildings in Reykjavík
besides a number of dwelling houses.

Skrauta´s professed objective has always been to collaborate with professionals
in the construction business where challenging projects,
often because of complex architecture, dire conditions and tight time frames demand
high quality employees to deliver fast but at the same time
maintaining high standards and quality craftmanship.

The company has never taken out a loan and has no liabilities.

Björn was raised in the countryside where his grandfather was a farmer
raising dairy breeds where the cow Skrauta was the most productive of them all.
Thus Skrauta for the company name representing quality and pride.
